A Kre8tiv Space 3D virtual Tour allows the viewer to explore the space from up to 200 locations, seamlessly!! We use an expensive, specialized, high tech 3D camera system consisting of cameras and spatial scanning sensors that, in addition to capturing the space in beautiful, high resolution images, it scans and generates a polygonal mesh.
This mesh is used to create a dynamic, 3D model that can be explored online AND in a virtual reality headset such as an Oculus Rift or Samsung Gear!!

A traditional virtual tour isn’t really virtual. It’s just a gallery or video of stationary panoramic photos.
Although techniques vary, most traditional tours don’t allow the viewer to move around within the space. At the very most, traditional tours offer 10 individual locations to view the space. Traditional photographers use DSLR cameras to capture multiple photos that are then stitched together to form a panorama which is viewed using special online plugins.

It takes about 45 minutes per 100 square meters. An average home would take around 2-3 hours to complete depending on how many floor levels there are. It will take longer if people or pets are present during scanning and are constantly entering the view of the camera.
Our 3D camera is placed in multiple positions throughout the space. In each position, a camera body holding nine individual lenses (6 HDRs and 3 infrared) rotates with its built-in motor to gather data in 360 degrees. The data is then uploaded into the cloud for processing. It typically takes 24 hours for the data to be processed into a Model. The Model is then available to be shared online with a web link or embedded directly into a website.
Please have the space cleaned and de-cluttered before your appointment. It should be staged and in “show-day’ condition. The camera will see everything and it cannot be taken out later.
It is advisable to People, pets, small children and other potentially moving persons or objects should be removed from the interior of the area to be scanned or placed in a separate closed off room. The family or a representative may be present during filming, but they must remain out of view of the camera and any windows and mirrors. In the absence of specific prior instructions, we will use our professional opinion and discretion to compose, stage and create the finished product.

Embedding a model is very straightforward: it’s similar to embedding a YouTube video. We will provide you with the code to cut and paste. You can also use a standard html link on websites, in emails and anywhere else web links are used such as Facebook.
A Kre8tiv Spaces 3D tour uses WebGL, the modern standard for 3D content on the web. On desktop computers, WebGL is supported by the latest version of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer. On mobile devices, WebGL is supported by Safari for iOS 8 upward and Chrome for Android. Our tours look absolutely amazing on an iPad/iphone with retina display.
Yes. We can provide you with an industry-standard OBJ file, which will contain both the 3D mesh and textures. There is no extra charge for this.
A 3D Virtual Tour requires an enormous amount of data which is stored in the cloud utilising the Matterport servers based in the USA. The first year of hosting is included in the initial fee, thereafter a hosting fee of R750 per year per model will be charged.
No. All models must be hosted on the Matterport cloud servers. You can however embed a tour onto your website. Branding is limited at present and only in text format, for example” 123 street presented by my real estate company” Kre8tiv Spaces can provide a “Skin” using a WP3D plugin which will allow logo branding intros to your models. This feature can be created at a small extra cost.
3D walk throughs, images and any other video created will be publicly available on the internet throughout the world and can be indexed by search engines. Any personal items, such as family photos, expensive artwork, jewelry or other personal property that you do not want to be seen by the public should be removed from view prior to the shoot.
Yes, we can use the 3D Model as a template to create a traditional schematic floor plan for you at an additional cost. Please contact us for details. This floor plan does not have to be hosted in the cloud and can be fully customised and branded. It usually takes an extra business day or two turn around for this service. Alternatively you can provide a 2D floor plan or hand drawn sketch and we can create both 2D & 3D plans. We can even offer walkthrough 3D furnished renders of unbuilt spaces. This service is Ideal for architects and plot and plan developers.
We use High-Dynamic-Range Imaging (HDR) which allows the camera to adjust to changes in light so both light and dark areas can be captured at the same time. This means that a space is good for scanning even on cloudy days. As long as there is interior lighting, the finished project will look as good, if not better, as a model created on a sunny day.
Our 3D Camera is designed for indoor use. Direct sunlight can interfere with data collection. Under certain conditions however it is possible to scan outdoor areas especially just before sunrise and sunset. We have scanned many pool areas and deck spaces leading from internal spaces with good results.
No, our models can’t be touched up or manipulated in lightroom or photoshop type software applications. We cannot make alterations after the shoot or modify the colour (darken or lighten).
Whatever is in the space at the time of the shoot is what it will look like in the final product. Please note we do our best to avoid the camera showing up in mirrors or as a reflection in glass windows, however it’s not always possible to avoid it in tight spaces or wall-to-wall mirrors.

As a viewer walks through the finished 3-D model, they may see a very small blurred area in the middle of the scan if they pan all the way down to the bottom. The blur is created by the camera to block the legs of the tripod from view. We cannot remove it.
Some areas may show as “black areas” on the final dollhouse or floor plan view (but not in the walk through view). This is normal, as these are areas the scanner cannot see and a human cannot see when walking through (such as inside a column, behind a chair in the corner or inside a small closet). Small non walk-in closets and very small storage spaces, pantries, residential garages and attics are not typically included in the scans.
